Polypropylene

Polypropylene Sheets and Rods -- Lightweight, Chemical-Resistant Engineering Plastic

Polypropylene is one of the most versatile engineering plastics available, combining lightweight construction with excellent chemical resistance, low moisture absorption, and good temperature performance. It is widely used across food processing, chemical handling, industrial fabrication, signage, and hygienic wall cladding applications.

We stock two types of polypropylene sheet — Homopolymer (PPH) and Copolymer (PPC) — each suited to different applications. Both are available cut to size from stock, with polypropylene rods also available for machined components and turned parts.

Not sure which type you need? PPH offers higher rigidity and better performance at elevated temperatures. PPC offers superior impact toughness and better performance at lower temperatures. Both are food contact approved and chemically resistant.

Polypropylene Homopolymer (PPH) is the stiffer, stronger option. With a tensile strength of 33 MPa and a service temperature up to +100°C, it is the preferred choice for chemical tanks, pumps, valves, gaskets, cutting boards, and structural fabrication where dimensional stability is critical. Available in Natural and Beige, with both FDA and EU food contact approval.

Polypropylene Copolymer (PPC) is the tougher, more impact-resistant option. With a service temperature range of -20°C to +80°C and no-break unnotched impact performance, it is ideal for protective cladding, signage, packaging, chemical containment, and applications where flexibility and toughness matter more than rigidity. Available in Natural, Black, White, Grey, and Beige, with FDA food contact approval.
